Whoopie Pies for the 4th of July

We are pretty excited for the 4th and it's already looking very patriotic around our house. I find myself reaching for red, white and blue items in my closet and tonight after dinner we enjoyed Red Velvet Whoopie Pies! I felt like the red cake & white cream cheese filling was just begging for blue star food picks :)

Looking forward to Thursday!!!

Our Wedding Website

I loved our wedding website. The template we chose fit the look & feel of our wedding perfectly. I wanted to put the web address on our save the dates so our website was the first thing we put together for our wedding.

I didn't want to use Weddingchannel.com - I wanted to use a lesser known wedding website provider to maintain a little privacy. There is a password option if you wanted to go even further to keep it only accessible to your guests. We didn't use that feature though.

We used WeddingWindow.com for our website, other good ones are Weddingwire.com and Perfectcouples.com. Jeff and I loved reading our guestbook entries on our site, we got a lot of really great feedback about our website and it kicked off the excitement for our wedding. The built in planning tools were really helpful too. We entered our wedding date and it had a checklist of everything we needed to do and the date we should have it done by. They would send us reminders when something was coming due.

After the wedding you can get a keepsake download or cd of your website, which we plan on doing. We had so many people write wonderful comments in our guestbook, those alone make buying the download worth it. And 10 years from now I am sure they will have come up with some new way of getting the info to guests, like a hologram- Something that will make what we did look so obsolete!

Over the course of 12 months from when our save the dates went out until our wedding day, we had around 900 visits to our website. I think our guests found it helpful and it also gave them a chance to know us a little better as a couple.

My Favorite Wedding Moments

Our wedding was a week ago today. I wanted to write down some favorite memories while they are still fresh.

My Top 5 Wedding Moments

5. Dancing with my Mama to (I've Had) the Time of My Life at the end of the night.

4. Standing at the edge of the lake alone with JT looking back at the long stretch of tents glowing and music bumping and saying "Can you believe all of that is for us?!"

3. After a cloudy misty foggy afternoon the sun came out just as JT and I were saying our vows.

2. Going to a little local bar across the street from our venue late that night, just the 2 of us, having a beer and him buying me a bar t-shirt. We didn't want the night to end and it was nice being alone and excitedly comparing stories from the days events (and getting a few curious looks from the locals).

and my most favorite memory...

1. Making the floral arrangements with my Mom, my Aunt Connie, Uncle Danny and my Groom. I loved that my family came together to make so many things happen for our big day, it made everything so special. My Aunt Connie said she would grow some peonies for our wedding... that was an understatement! We had sooo many peonies thanks to her! The dining room/kitchen area of the lake house my mom rented looked like a florist shop. There were flowers everywhere! My groom who had never arranged flowers in his life was suddenly an expert and was making great arrangements. We  all talked while we made floral arrangements late into the night and there were a few times that we started singing songs together. It was a really great night :)

The flowers turned out even better than I had imagined. I saved money and have a favorite memory. Win-win.

06.08.13 My Wedding Dress Hanger

I make so many wedding dress hangers, I wanted to do something a little different for my own. Two hearts and a lot of glitter did the trick.
