Jeffrey Says Relax

Hi, my name is Elizabeth, and I am a workaholic.

I never stop. I can't. Even at the beach, I can't just lay there enjoying the sun and surf. I have to be working on something, anything. Our last beach day, I made 80 save the dates for our wedding while surrounded by people relaxing, baking in the sun, slathered in coconut oil.

I was working at home on Saturday and late that night, Jeffrey took one look at me, saw my exhaustion  and declared Sunday to be a mandatory day of fun. He told me all I needed to know was that I needed to wear comfortable sturdy shoes and sunblock.

Saturday morning, as NYC got smaller and smaller behind our convertible, I felt my tension disappearing. Jeff let me take over the music in the car so I blasted Rolling Stones, Nelly, Joss Stone and BNL all the way to our mystery destination.

And then we arrived... at Bear Mountain. Beautiful, and exactly what I needed.

We ate...

Jeff packed a backpack full of drinks and snacks and we ate lunch at 1915 an organic restaurant located in the park and has awesome pulled pork sliders!

My thoughts...

Bear Mountain State Park is a perfect day trip from NYC. It's gorgeous and offers so much to do. Hiking, paddle boat rentals, a zoo, a merry-go-round, an enormous bright blue swimming pool, and amazing views in every direction. Cell reception is spotty throughout the park, which makes it even better for someone like me who is a slave to their email.

My fiance is the best and the day was a blast but I have to get back to work now.
Work hard, play hard!
