2013; A Look Back At A Wonderful Year

2013 was an amazing, awesome, spectacular year for me and I am sad to see it go! The biggest most beyond memorable 2013 event for me- I married JT, surrounded by our friends and family and had one heck of a party to celebrate!

Cheers to 2013!

New Year's

New Year's Eve has never been a big thing for me, which is surprising considering I look for any excuse to have a party, wear sequins or use glitter. Perhaps my resolution this year should be to get more into New Year's next year :)

Glitter, confetti, sequins, bubbly... what's not to love?!

Potato Stamp Holiday Gift Wrap

Last year I wrapped my gifts in reused shopping bags and decorated them with washi tape. This year I decided to reuse shopping bags again, but this time I carved potatoes into Christmas shapes and used them to stamp the brown paper bags.

Making potato stamps is something my high school art teacher taught me. She had a print making project she wanted to do with our class but the linoleum that is used to carve for stamps was too expensive to buy for the entire class- potatoes fit her budget! People have been using potatoes to make stamps for a long time :)

A lot of the stores I shop at (Trader Joe's, Sur La Table, Whole Foods ect.) use brown paper bags and I save them all year so I have enough come wrapping time!

The candy cane potato stamp I made was my favorite.

Trees... I sprinkled some of them with glitter before they dried to make them sparkle.

To make a snowman I dipped a wine cork in paint and used it as a stamp.

Preppy little bows.

I glued pom poms to some packages. This one looks very Dr. Seuss, making it my favorite this year.

The glitter I sprinkled on the trees, made them look like they were covered in sparkling snow :)

I'm done shopping and done wrapping... time to kick back and enjoy this wonderful season!

Woof.

Every year I plan out our holiday movie watching schedule. I have so many favorites that I have to watch before Christmas! In honor of tonight's movie, Home Alone, I thought I would share this gif I made using Woofmaker.com

It's free and super easy to create your own!

Nautical Baby Shower

My family threw a baby shower for my cousin Amy this past weekend at The Buffalo Boat Launch on Grand Island. It was gorgeous and so much work went into it- it needs to be seen! I only helped out with a few items, the rest of the credit for this beautiful shower goes to my Aunt Connie, Aunt Amy and my mama. They did an amazing job!

My Aunt made these boat favors and filled them with candy. They were also used for a nursery rhyme game- nursery rhyme's were read out loud at random and if yours was read you won a bigger prize.

I made these diaper raffle fish inserts, they were sent out with the invitations.

I also made these inserts asking guests to bring a book instead of a card.

I made the nautical baby bingo boards.

We used lifesaver candies for the bingo markers.

My Aunt made life preservers out of burlap fabric to frame childhood photos of the expecting couple.

My Aunt ordered a plain white cake so that she could decorate it her self with this sail boat and turtles.

It was a fabulous party!
Congrats to Amy & Jeff!
I can't wait to meet baby Riley!
