A Very She & Him Christmas

I started on a lot of holiday projects this weekend and A Very She & Him Christmas has been playing in the background the whole time. The album is mellow, cheerful and cozy. Zooey Deschanel has moments on some of the tracks where she reminds me so much of Patsy Cline. This album is perfect for holiday cocktail parties. Anyway, check it out, I love it!

Cannoli Cream Cocktail

This is my most favorite cocktail I have ever made, ever.
I went to my favorite bakery and asked them for cannoli filling and cannoli shells (separate, not assembled). If you go to a good Italian bakery, they will not be shocked by this request because many people buy them this way and assemble them at home to avoid soggy cannoli shells at their parties.

I added a shot of Biscotti Liqueur and a shot of vodka to the cannoli cream and then thinned it down even more with milk.

I rimmed the glass in chocolate and then dipped it in crushed cannoli shells.

Crushed cannoli shells for the rim of the glass.

This drink is exceptionally decadent, making it the perfect cocktail for the holiday season.

Cheers!

Snowflakes!

We saw snowflakes here in NJ last week (thankfully nothing stuck to the ground!) and it inspired me to create these drink tags.  I am going package some of these up with a bottle of wine for hostess gifts to bring with me to all of the upcoming holiday cocktail parties I am attending.

You can find these winter wonderland drink tags in the elizabethdoodah shop!

Cheers!

Giraffe Godparent Cards

A friend asked me to create "will you be my godparent?" cards. Her son Chase's nursery is giraffe themed (it's super adorable, they covered the walls with hand painted giraffe spots!)so we kept the giraffe theme going.

I didn't like the look of brown paper (it looked too harsh) so instead I used a metallic bronze paper with yellow. I like the shimmer of the metallic paper it makes it look more special.

Baby Chase decided he wanted a very early arrival and was delivered several weeks early (probably was just really anxious to move into his amazing nursery!)- I gotta get these sent out to his mama quick!

A Casino Themed 60th Birthday

We surprised my Mother-In-Law this weekend for her 60th Birthday! We had a dinner for her at Gallagher's in Atlantic City. The restaurant is already nicely decorated so I just made a few items to make it seem more like a party.

I made these headbands. They were really easy. I bought packs of headbands from the dollar store (they are 4 for a dollar!) and fanned out five cards to make birthday tiaras.

Chocolate covered Oreos were the party favors. I chose them because they look like poker chips.

I put one milk chocolate and one white chocolate in these little gold dice favor boxes that I made.

The gold dice favor boxes I made and filled with chocolate covered Oreos.

Since I had a lot of little projects going on, I ran out of time to make her card. I ended up buying this cute card from Papyrus for her.  It was perfect!

The cake... yes, there is a cake under all of that.

I put clear glass votives on the table and used black & gold dice for filler around the candles.

Gallagher's was excellent. The birthday girl had a great time and the surprise was a success! It was a very happy birthday!

Pink & Green

My favorite Lilly Pulitzer quotes:

"Anything is possible with sunshine & a little pink."

"Being happy never goes out of style."

"Style isn't just about what you wear, it's about how you live."

"If you haven't any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble."

"Life's a party, dress like it!"

Happy Birthday Lilly!

Our Wedding Thank You Notes- finally sent!

We finally got our wedding thank you notes sent out. We went with a flat card with a photo on each side. I decided dress them up by sending them in petal style envelopes.I wrote our thank you message directly on the inside of the petal envelope.

Front of the card.
Back of the card.

Envelope embossed  envelope seals.

Vintage stamps in shades of blue.

We also enclosed photo booth photos of the guest we were thanking.
