new doo-dah! products coming in 2013!

I will be adding new items to my etsy shop next year! My hangers and cards were things that I made for my own wedding and later added to my store. The same goes for the new items. As I make things for my wedding I will make extras and for my shop and see if they are things that other people are also looking for.

First up... banners!

I made this banner using my new paper cutter that Santa brought me. The letter are made of 2 layers of card stock and strung on aqua bakers twine.

Christmas In New York

I love New York anytime of year... but Christmas time is my favorite! JT and I spent yesterday having a holiday day in the city. We indulged, eating macarons and sipping on hot chocolate while taking in all of the beautiful city light displays. We went to Columbus Circle, then cut through Central Park to head up 5th Ave. The holiday displays on 5th are amazing- the shops all seem to be trying to one up each other with gorgeous lights and well dressed windows. New York is beautiful!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Washi Tape Gift Wrap

This year I decided to wrap gifts with grocery bags and washi tape. We use reusable shopping bags but when we forget to bring them to the store we end up getting paper bags. I thought it would be nice to reuse them.

I cut the bags down the side seams to make the bag flat. And I put the printed side against the gift so the plain side was on the outside.

You can find the dot washi tape at RetroRoxVintage.

I like the flat bow.. I think I will do a Christmas tree shape or a star on another gift.

I like how they turned out... kind of modern. I've got a lot more wrapping to do today!

Swirly Twirly Gumdrop Nails

Elf is one of my favorite Christmas movies. And my favorite quote from the movie is when Buddy the Elf describes how he got to NYC,

"I passed through the 7 levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gumdrops, and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel"

Obviously Hoboken would be the sea of swirly twirly gumdrops. Or at least that is what I choose to believe.

So when I found this fun Swirly Twirly Gumdrop polish from Daily Lacquer. I had to try it out.

I like it! I think I will try layering it over a light pink or a black polish for a different look next time.
